VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES ON LIVE BUILD AUG 2010

Great clay and lime rendering opportunity!

9th-13th and 24th-27th August

Volunteering and learning opportunities

This is an on-going, live building site offering opportunities for builders, plasterers, carpenters and complete beginners or those wishing to progress their strawbale building techniques.

amazonails have been leading building courses here with Michael, on the world’s first set of  two storey loadbearing 3 bed, semi-detached houses on rammed car tyre foundations in an urban situation – which will be finished with living roofs and solar power. The ground floor walls are up and the top floor is currently being built - under the protection of a raised roof.

It is a really exciting build, at an exciting stage and on an exciting site.  Michael has based his loadbearing design on the amazonails’ build at Raleghs Cross Inn, Exmoor,     http://www.raleghscross.co.uk and has built up on rammed car tyre foundations on an ordinary street in the lovely welsh town of Pembroke Dock in South Pembrokeshire.

Michael is looking for assistance with his build and amazonails will be on site providing support and teaching:
